Catalog
Frames
The layout decides how many slots you need to shoot. Pick a layout first, then head into the booth.
Available frames
Every frame has its own slot count - that's how many times you'll shoot in the booth. Filter the catalog by tag, slot count, or name - same controls as picking a frame in the booth.

How layouts work
One slot, one shot
A frame's slot count is exactly how many times the booth counts down. A 4-up strip and a 2×2 grid take four shots; a vertical pair takes two; a polaroid or full-frame takes one.
Pick early, change later
Choose a layout, then go shoot. Swapping frames part-way through keeps the shots you already have - the new layout just needs enough of them.
Runs in the browser
It all runs in the browser. Allow the camera when asked; without a camera you can upload existing photos and compose them into a frame.
Which layout to pick
4-up strip
4 photo slotsTells a little story: hello, laugh, pose, sign off. Good for reunions, events and groups - it reads as a photobooth at a glance.
2×2 grid
4 photo slotsFour balanced slots that post well to a feed. Same number of shots as the strip, just read across instead of down.
Polaroid / single slot
1 photo slotOne clear portrait with less staging. Right when you want a photo rather than a strip that tells a story.
Vertical pair
2 photo slotsTwo shots: a couple, a before/after, or one person with two expressions. Quicker than the 4-up strip.
Frequently asked questions
What does the slot count on a frame mean?
Each slot is one shot (or one uploaded photo). A 4-up layout needs four shots; a polaroid needs one. Pick the layout first and you'll know how many times you're shooting.
Can I shoot on the web?
Yes. Boothsummer runs in the browser. Open the page, allow the camera, shoot. Downloads come out without a watermark.
Do I lose photos if I change frame mid-session?
No. Shots you've already taken are kept. The new layout only needs enough of them - shoot more if it's short, or choose which shots go in if there are extras.
Should I pick a 4-up strip or a polaroid?
For a strip that tells a story, take the four-slot layouts (strip or 2×2 grid). For one clear shot, take a polaroid or full-frame. Use the vertical pair when two shots are all you need.
More about frames
Two short pieces on picking a layout and picking a mood before you open the booth.
Picking a photobooth frame by mood instead of scrolling the whole catalog
A twenty four jar jam table drew more shoppers and sold ten times less, and scrolling an entire frame catalog fails in exactly the same way.
Start shooting
You can pick a layout inside the booth too, and change it part-way through. If you'd rather see camera permissions and each step first, read the guide.
